Walk-and-Talk is a form of psychotherapy while walking outdoors in public places. I offer walk-and-talk sessions as an optional treatment modality, along Greensboro’s Greenway.

Walk and talk therapy combines exercise with psychotherapy, offering a dynamic alternative to traditional sessions. Movement during therapy may help clients relax, open up, and think more creatively. Walking side-by-side, especially outdoors, can make it easier for patients to address difficult issues, break free from feeling "stuck," and experience a sense of progress.

Therapists and clients alike benefit from the fresh air and physical activity, which can enhance mental clarity, emotional processing, and overall well-being.

Tele-Therapy

Tele-therapy is also offered, and can be conducted in a secure place- home or office. This can be convenient if unable to leave home, lack of childcare, and/or during lunch hour.

Tele-therapy is a form of mental health care provided online through video calls, phone calls, messaging, or apps. It offers convenience, flexibility, and safety for those who prefer or need to access care from home. Research shows teletherapy can be as effective as in-person therapy, but regulations vary by state, requiring providers to be licensed where the patient lives, making this option only available to North Carolina Residents.

Group Therapy

Rebuilding After Betrayal

Shock, denial, anger, and grief are just a few emotions felt when betrayal occurs.  This group creates a safe place for individuals to find community and learn how to rebuild after betrayal.  Even supportive people in your life may try to understand what you are going through, unfortunately the wrong words are used or what they believe is the timeline should be in your healing. You don’t have to face this journey alone—here, you’ll find community, understanding, and the tools to move forward.

Rebuilding Softer

I am emotionally regulating, I have the therapeutic tools, now what. . .  This group is a post-traumatic therapy group for individuals who are ready to implement what’s been learned in therapy and process the successes and challenges of moving forward.  Rebuilding Softer encourages community and helps others recognize the “blind spots” that feel like a setback, but instead it’s growing opportunities.

As a certified coach through the Amen clinic, I offer groups centered around the brain and how to take care of it.  Using Dr. Amen’s model of the 4 circles, we explore ways to become healthier from the inside out.

Dr. Amen’s 4 Circles model explains that mental health is influenced by four key areas:

  1. Biological: Your brain and body’s health, including things like diet, exercise, and sleep.

  2. Psychological: How you think and feel about yourself, your emotions, and stress levels.

  3. Social: The quality of your relationships and social environment.

  4. Spiritual: A sense of purpose, meaning, and connection to something greater.

By focusing on all four areas, you can improve overall mental well-being.

As a little girl,  I remember jumping fences, believing they were made to be leapt over. As I grew into adulthood, I realized fences are built for protection—to keep harmful things out.  Boundaries is a therapeutic group to help group members explore communication and attachment styles,  reconnecting with your core identity. By the end of this group, you'll leave with the skills and confidence to build and maintain healthy "fences" that protect your emotional well-being.

Intensives

Have you ever gotten to the end of an hour of therapy, and wanted more time.   Individual therapy is a great tool to help individuals meet therapy goals, but intensives take the momentum that occurs in therapy, without losing that thought.

After my own experiences, I found solitude in retreats and intensives.  Through extensive trainings and research, I have created a curriculum and schedule that would offer clients an intimate opportunity for healing and growth.

Intensives are tailored to you and your needs. Individual intensives are 6 hours a day.  Group intensives span 2 days, starting on Friday at 1pm and wrapping up on Saturday at 3:30pm.  Each intensive is experiential in nature – including art, expressive arts, EMDR,  etc. – to help you meet your goals. Equine therapy may also be a part of your intensive process.

Intensives are located in Greensboro and Asheboro.
