Reach out to your provider with the following questions to figure out what coverage is available:Does your plan cover Mental Health or Behavioral Health benefits?
Does your plan have a deductible? If so, ask if you have met any amount towards the deductible, including family or individual plans?
Do you have a co-pay or co-insurance, and what is it for therapy?
Ask if you need a referral or a prior authorization before you see a therapist?
Ask if there are any limits to how many sessions you can have in a calendar year? If so, how many?
If you are receiving counseling through telehealth, please inquire about if it will be reimbursed or what system is required to conduct teleheath (Example- MD Live, VSee, etc.)?

Because each insurance plan is different, it’s a good idea to contact your insurance company to verify your benefits and find out how Insurance will pay for therapy. They will be your best resource for out-of-pocket costs for services.
